Keswick Embroiderers' Guild

We meet on the third Thursday of the month, September to May, 10am -3pm, at the Friends' Meeting House in Keswick. This is in Elliot Park, just beside Booths' carpark. Arrive at 9.45 for coffee and biscuits! We also meet informally during the Winter to work on our own projects.

We are a small and friendly group, meeting to celebrate textiles and stitch. We share between us a wide range of interests and expertise. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

We've been busy.

This is crewel work, made from one of Nicola Jarvis's kits.

Debbie's 'Leaves'. Each member of Keswick Embroiderers guild is making part of a very unusual fabric Christmas tree for the Christmas Tree festival in Keswick this year. The leaves are machine embroidered.

Enid's 'Positivity' picture is finished!

Enid has also been creating these cards.

I was planning to go to the flower festival at Keukenhof this month but obviously can't! By coincidence, over 150 tulip bulbs were planted in our garden in the Autumn. Now, right on cue, here are the first of them.

Working at Home!

Like everyone else, we have been forced to cancel our face to face meetings for now. What will we do? We all have firm resolutions to carry on at home , to use up the 'stuff' in the cupboards and drawers. And for our well-being too.
Hopefully I will be able to share some of our work here over the next days.

So, to start with, a quilt I have just finished after much delay. It was from a book by Pam and Nicky Lintott, quite old, and I loved the quilt immediately  when I saw the sample in their lovely Dorking shop. Because it was an oldish book, it took a long time to source an appropriate jelly roll, and then I wanted to enlarge the quilt , which involved a great deal of maths. Not to mention angst!

But now it's done.

It would be lovely to post some work by other members.
Keep safe!
